Several factors may necessitate this, including the wall's proximity to a house or boundary, its height, and the load it must support. We can provide guidance on whether engineering is needed. You have the option to arrange this yourself or include it in our All-Inclusive service.
As a rough guide, anything over 1m, and within 1m to you boundary will require engineering. If the wal is within 4m to your residence and is retaining the load of the house, it will also require engineering.

Council approval is required for walls over one meter high or located within one meter of a boundary. You can handle the approval process independently, or we can manage it for you as part of our All-Inclusive service.

In Queensland, general landscapers are not licensed to build retaining walls over one meter without a Builder or Builder Restricted Landscape Construction license. We are fully licensed at Earth Design Landscaping, ensuring your wall is covered by QBCC warranty and insurance. It’s crucial to work with a licensed contractor for this reason.
